Each year, locals and tourists visit Boalsburg to experience its charm and rich history.

Boalsburg’s lovely local Victorian style bed and breakfast accommodations, historical and educational attractions, including the Columbus Chapel and Boal Mansion Museum, which boasts pieces of the “true cross” and the Pennsylvania Military Museum 28th Division Shrine with daily tours. Join in our traditional Memorial Day celebration. This festival attracts nearly 25,000 visitors and includes a parade, a community walk to the cemetery, arts and crafts, military reenactments, and more.

Across locations including the Pennsylvania Military Museum, The Boal Mansion, Nittany Theatre at the Barn, with the Boaslburg Fireman’s Parade, Boalsburg Fireman’s Carnival, Civil War Encampment, and more.

Come to the birthplace of Memorial Day in Boalsburg. The Memorial Day Festival features food, music and craft vendors complete with two Civil War battle re-enactments at the historical Boal Mansion and Estate. Honor the soldiers of the past and present by visiting the Pennsylvania Military Museum to see their exhibits. On the grounds of the museum the AACA holds a car show for Memorial Day celebrators to enjoy.

Group tours at any time in any season by advance arrangement. 

The Columbus Chapel, containing the Admiral’s Desk of Christopher Columbus on the right, was imported from Spain to Boalsburg, Centre County, in 1909 by Columbus’ descendants in the Boal family.
